April Happenings

Off The Beach News

Lake Boga Report

Each year the Safety Beach Sailing Club has a large attendance at the Easter Regatta, and this year was no different, with 17 families making the trek to “Boga”.  The sailing contingent consisted of 30 sailing members in 7 different classes of boats. The forecast looked amazing on paper, and temperatures did not disappoint, unlike the wind, which at times was non-existent. With temps around 30 degrees plus, the regatta managed to put out 5 races over 4 days, allowing lots of opportunities to cool off in the lake.
Results were varied across the different classes, our 420 youth dominated, as we were the only club with representation in that class. No surprises in the Tasar group with some excellent results from the Martin family rivalry. Bill Manning stepped away from the comfort of his Sabre to try is hand in the Impulse, with 3rd overall in this class. Most impressive title goes to Abbey Everett and Matt Whitaker for First Juniors Overall in the regatta, and their names etched into a perpetual trophy!
Well done to all sailors and their support crew for another great trip to Boga.
