Off The Beach Sailing
Off the beach sailing has been enjoyed at the club since the clubs foundation in 1967. The vibrant and friendly membership at the club, encourages others to get into sailing in the most basic form of sailing, dinghy racing. The club has a wide range of classes represented, both monohulls and catamarans enjoy sailing in the perfect waters of Dromana Bay.
Skill levels in our fleet range from sail training graduates to world champions and the more advanced are generous with their time to discuss boat tuning and the odd coaching tips.
Classes Sailed Include
- Sabre
- A Class Cat
- Tasar

The club organises racing every Sunday from early October until late April-early May. Racing starts at 2.00pm and we generally run two short course races back to back. We are well supported by fantastic infrastructure with a modern fleet of rescue craft with safe access to the marina ensuring that even on days where there’s a big sea state, our rescue craft can easily get a course laid.
Of course there are other opportunities for our OTB sailors to get more of a sail fix, by offering to crew on Keel Boats, in what is now one of the biggest Keel Boat fleets on the bay. Our Keel Boat owners are well supported by the many OTB sailors that just can’t get enough of sailing in one of the best places to sail on Port Phillip Bay.
