Keelboat News

Brass Monkey Winter Series (BMWS) starts this Sunday!

We would love to see plenty of boats out there competing in the first winter race.  If you are new to the winter series, please read the Sailing Instructions.
Key things to note are:
  • Fortnightly Sunday morning racing
  • Pursuit/Tower starts
  • Advise tower when signing on if intending to use a Spinnaker/Code Zero
(a 4 minute time penalty will be added to your pursuit start time)
  • Short courses – 8 to 9 nM
  • Race time limit – 3 hours and 30 minutes
As communicated to you all a couple of weeks ago, the development of the Keelboat Module of SailorApp has been suspended at this time, so the Race Management of the 2023 BMWS will now remain unchanged from last year (using TopYacht in the Tower).  Please therefore proceed with the normal practise of signing on with the Tower prior to your start on Channel 69.
If any skippers would like to race but don’t have enough crew, please let us know at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
