Life Member Award

Congratulations to Andrew Stocks who has been awarded the Life Member Award at the AGM on Sunday. Andrew Stocks (aka Stocksie) is a founding member of Safety Beach SC and has been an active sailing member for most of those years. In more recent times has joined the Keelboat fleet primarily sailing on Fransiska with his good mate Peter Morisson. Andrew he has always been happy to offer a hand around the club as required, be it with an electrical job, volunteering to do duty for both club races and regattas, or helping as required at the annual working bees or whatever else is needed at the time and with a minimum of fuss or bother. Of more recent times Stocksie has been offering to do more and more with Keelboat activities ensuring our tower lights are always working, he is a regular in the tower on a Friday evening to make sure we all get out for a sail. He was kind enough to offer his assistance when keelboats where just in their infancy at SBSC and tower helpers were hard to come by and is still helping out 14 years down the track. He has also been a big help with our Sail Peninsula regatta especially on set up day when he spends most of the day hooking up all the wiring and back again on the Sunday afternoon to pull it all down again. All of this is done with a smile on the face and a willingness to do more to help. For his enduring hard work, passion, and enthusiasm for Safety Beach SC over many many years Stocksie is a very deserved recipient of Life Membership Award.
