Duty Roster Information

Howdy OTB Gang. It’s less than a month to go until the start of the sailing season. As usual the action has been happening behind the scenes. So on that note, please click here for this season's program ready to be filled with race team duty names. Here is your chance to have a look and contact me with any available/unavailable dates you might have. If you don’t have a boat ready yet or crew issues at the start of the season and you are available to do a duty or four, please let me know. Likewise, if you are away on particular date/dates please let me know ASAP to avoid having to make changes later.

Cheers all, and as usual, the executive committee has ordered up perfect sailing weather for the whole season so it’s going to be the best ever.

See you on the water, Pete Chippy

Yard Storage

All members wishing to utilize yard storage this season, please submit your applications as soon as possible. There is a very high demand on the yard for allocations so please understand that priority is given to Sailing Craft because we are a Sailing Club. Non-sailing craft members may apply however we only have a very small number of spaces. For yard storage application forms, click here. All yard keys will be changed in the next few weeks. They will only be given to those that have current yard storage paid and up to date.

Australian Sailing Awards Night

Congratulations to some of our OTB Youth Sailors for their success at the Australian Sailing Victoria Awards at Sandringham Yacht Club last Friday night. Competing in the 420 Class, the series was made up of multiple events from the 2021-22 season. What an achievement with 2nd place awarded to Owen Thompson & Finn Meijer on Little Sea and 3rd place going to Abbey Everett & Nick Meijer on Giacomo. A fantastic result for the future champions of our club! Keep it up guys!!

Man Overboard Training

Our first training session for MOB Training was a huge success. Presenters Simon and Martin from ORCV Sea Safety Survival Course gave some valuable insights into the requirements needed to perform lifesaving rescues. With 55 attendees from 6 different clubs, our skippers and crew can now take the right steps to ensure safely remains the priority for not only ocean racing, but also enclosed and coastal waters too.

If you missed the last session the next one is:
Saturday, 17 September 2022
9.15am arrival (for 9.30am start)
