New Members & Sunday Sounds
It was very pleasing to welcome 12 of our new members to the club on Sunday afternoon with many of them staying on to enjoy the SBSC Sunday Sounds that followed. With so many new faces at the club if you come across a face that you don't know do make the effort to say hello and introduce yourself.
Keelboat & Tower News
The Program and Roster for the Winter Series has now been published on the club website at Winter Program & Roster V2. We look forward to seeing plenty of yachts out competing in this year's Brass Monkey Pursuit Series which kicks off on the 6th June. This series has a pursuit start but has the option of using extra's such as Spinnakers, Code 0's etc which is the ideal opportunity to try out that spinnaker that has been sitting moldering away in the sail locker without the extra pressure of a combined start.
After a great morning of sailing there is nothing better than to head back to the club to enjoy a meal, beverage and some great company in front of that lovely and warm gas log fire - they might even have the footie on the big screen for all those AFL fanatics.

Great to see Crystal Dreaming out for their first sail last Sunday and we look forward to seeing them out as a regular with the SBSC fleet. Big thank you to the Tower Team of David, Jennie & Andy from Renaissance and our tower regular, Elaine Nicholson, who made sure the results were published in a very timely fashion.

ORCV News - Apollo Bay Race
This weekend we have the 68th running of ORCV Apollo Bay Race. This year they have a bumper fleet of 41 entries for the 52NM Cat 3 race. There are several local boats competing - Audere, Patriot, Scaramouche, Shimmer, Summer's Lease and Joker on Tourer plus a few that are well known to the SBSC fleet which include Protagonist and Rod Smallman on Maverick. We wish them all a fast and safe trip and if you would like to follow their progress please go to www.MarineTraffic.com.
Early this week we had another of our yachts, Limelight, depart Martha Cove heading for all places warm and north. They were last spotted departing Refuge Cove this morning. We wish them a safe and fantastic cruising adventure this winter. To follow the progress of our winter cruising fleet please check out the Facebook page at SBSC Cruisers Facebook Page.
