Sail Peninsula 2021
How Good was Sail Peninsula!!
We were not even sure that this event was going to happen until 11:00am on Wednesday when the easing of the Covid Lockdown restrictions was announced but it did go ahead and it was one of the best Sail Peninsula regattas yet. Great racing conditions and fantastic food & entertainment in the big marquee at SBSC.
Thanks to Andrew Clark and the SP2021 committee for their relentless efforts in making this the successful regatta it was. Thank you to Snooks Catering and their friendly staff and Chris Parks from EWI for the great photos. Thank you to the race officers and race management team, support crew and a big thank you to our fabulous sponsors.
Chris has just uploaded over 700 PROOF images shot of this year's Regatta. These are View Only proofs. If you are interested in any of these images please take note of the SP21…… Number under the image(s) you are interested in and let me know what you would like the image for so we can arrange optimised versions for you. Please email details to
The "SP2021 PROOFS" images using the following link: SP2021 PROOFS
The results are all available on the Sail Peninsula Web-Site at SP2021 RESULTS
The SP Organising Committee will take a few weeks to recover but will be announcing the dates for SP2022 very shortly.

OTB Report
Short one this week, promise. No OTB last week due to Sail Peninsula (and a great event it was too!). There were some small sails on the water never the less, as Greg’s Green Fleet hit the water once the keelboats had cleared the area. About a dozen intrepid juniors headed out to make the most of the breeze around the muscle farm under the watchful eye of Greg and Co. All the kids and parents are doing a great job. Owen Thompson and Zac Lowe are heading off to Blairgowrie for the Bic state titles this weekend. Good luck guys and bring back some silverware!
This week we have Mt Martha coming around the cliff for round two of our SBSC/MMYC challenge, so we need everyone that can get their bum in a boat to get their bum in a boat and hit the water! Apparently!, even with our small fleet the other week, we came home with the bickies, so let’s really make sure that trophy spends another year in our cabinet.
Next week (Labour Day long weekend) we are hosting the Hobie state titles, so as there will be no OTB sailing I’ll be making some calls to ask for crews for the patrol boats. Don’t say you weren’t warned!
That’s all for now, see you on the water.
