See you then.😀

OTB Captain Report
Well , that’s the Christmas series done and dusted ! Well done to every one who competed and helped out over the six days.
Week two had much better conditions than the previous week but unfortunately less boats as more people returned to work (I played hooky Monday and Tuesday afternoon - don't tell the boss! ). Sunday was fairly light and we only had one race but Monday was much better so we managed three races in very shifty winds that saw some big lead changes. Chippy (Moi) demonstrated how to be over the line at the start, dip back and still be first to the top mark then consolidate that with some very poor tacking choices to end up stoney last - typical ! Tuesday was the pick of the bunch by far with good consistent wind and a great course that allowed some ripper reaches. A shame Drew missed out getting to the start after breaking a shackle on a side stay and de-masting, an event he described as “ not as exciting as tipping over “. Jess and Owen had a bit of grief keeping their 29er upright with a lack of body weight on the trapeze, so showing some ingenuity, Owen was seen after the race trialling a cunning scheme of filling his wetsuit with water (with him still in it). I’m sure there’s nothing against that in the rules, as long as you don’t fall in !
All in all, the series was a great success and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, including some visitors from McCrae. Thanks again to everyone who manned the patrol boats especially the non sailors that allowed more boats on the water. That enough from me, cheers and Happy Birthday to David Snooks .
Ps: don’t forget to come along this Sunday for our fun sailing day with RO Rick Potter setting some interesting courses ( flour bombs are banned apparently !)

Keelboat & Tower Report
Please note that a Change to Sailing Instructions came into effect from the 1st January 2021. Details are posted on the club website and have been sent via separate email to our Keelboat skippers and crews last week but in essence the main changes relate to the new Racing Rules of Sailing which comes into effect on the 1st Jan. We have also updated our Club Course to remove the 'Red Pile'. Please make sure you that you have a copy of the new Course Sheet on board and ensure that you dispose of any old copies as we would hate to see you heading off on the wrong direction in 2021.
