Committee Mutterings
Dear members,
The Committee wishes to thank sincerely those, that have paid their membership fees so promptly. Judging by the number of re-committed members, it is clear that we all just want to get back on the water and be part of the exciting prospect of again being together at the club in the not too distant future. Our thanks also to those members who have sent in nominations for positions on the Executive Committee. It is refreshing to see so many new faces putting up their hand to make a difference at the club. One position we are desperately seeking is a Treasurer. If you have the skills and have knowledge of Xero, then please come forward and let us know. Our current Treasurer isn’t going anywhere, he’s just really quite busy being a granddad, but is more than happy to help whoever jumps into his seat. Graeme has done all the hard work and has made the position of Treasurer a much smoother job. Please let our Secretary or Commodore know if you can help.
I would like to draw your attention to the AGM documents. A link to these documents is HERE. Please take the time to read the reports and submit any questions you wish to raise at the AGM about any business arising from these reports to our Secretary at
With the current COVID-19 restrictions now in place for the next 5 weeks at the least, it is fair to say that we could all hear a collective groan and feel robbed of our opportunity to once again go racing. It is unlikely that we will be able to race before September, which will be getting close to our official opening date. Please be aware of the restrictions, particularly those restrictions that affect us as a club. The clubhouse is again closed until further notice, however the Snooks Catering Team will be continuing with the takeaway meals, coffee, and baked goods from the canteen, with opening times regularly advertised on the clubs Facebook page. Please support Snooks Catering through another difficult time for them and the entire hospitality industry.
Fair winds,
Mono

The Boatyard
With racing back on hold for the next few weeks NOW is the perfect time to get your yacht's bottom cleaned, maintenance done or follow up your anti fouling program. Don’t leave this till the last minute as you may find a long waiting list! The “Boatyard” at Martha Cove offer great deals to the members of Safety Beach Sailing Club which can add up to a significant reduction to your annual maintenance costs.
Unfortunately marine growth doesn’t socially distance, the longer you leave it the harder it will be to get it off and leave your yachts performance reduced.
Let’s support one of the clubs major sponsors and book your slip in now by calling on 1800 440 255
